BNO PIET ZWART PRIZE
This oeuvre prize is given to a designer who may be considered ‘beyond category' and who has made a ‘most significant' contribution to the design profession. The winner will be selected by a very compact selection committee. Registration for this category is not possible.
CRITERIA
- Dutch nationality (or a lifelong residence in the Netherlands)
- impressive and outstanding oeuvre
- icon in his/her area of expertise
- example to and source of inspiration for young designers
- international orientation and commissioning clients
- applied design (communication/product/spatial)
- nearing the end of his/her career (65+)
MARIJKE VAN DER WIJST WINS BNO PIET ZWART PRIZE
The BNO Piet Zwart Prize - Lifetime Achievement Award of the Dutch Design Awards 2011 was awarded this year to Marijke van der Wijst. The prize, which comprises a sum of € 4,000 and a presentation in the exhibition of the Dutch Design Awards, was handed by Trude Hooykaas on October 22, 2011 in Eindhoven.
