Marhaba

The project

The visual identity for the Marhaba House for Cultural Dialogue in Amsterdam is created by Koeweiden Postma. This striking visual identity places decorative elements from Islamic culture in the context of the here and now.

Committee

Marhaba is an art and culture house that aims to develop into a centre for the creation of a cultural dialogue in Amsterdam. The logo, formed by the letters Marhaba, is filled with an Arabic decorative pattern. Looking closely within this pattern, the three crosses of Amsterdam can be found. Together with the chosen colors, this creates a spontaneous image that brings cultures closer together by using their symbolism. The visual identity as a whole has a fresh light-hearted appearance, and reflect the aims of the foundation in a sympathetic way.
