HAKA – Recycle Office

The project

Doepel Strijkers explored for the realization of the project the Interior material cycles on area and city scale explored. The ambition was to go beyond just reducing the CO2 footprint by the recycling of materials. There was an alternative development set up by the introduction of the social component. A team of ex-prisoners in a application reintegration route was used to create the objects.

Committee

A prototype for an alternative development method. The reuse of local materials and the (social) employment of workers forced the designer to devise simple assembly principles. The overall design balances between total composition and patchwork.

Jury

The HAKA Recycle Office project meets all criteria, like sustainability and social responsibility.
