Invisible Work

The project

Exhibition of the work of landscape architects Michael van Gessel and Patrick Mc Cabe in the context of the International Triennial Apeldoorn. Invisible Work is taking place in the Nettenfabriek, a former factory near the Apeldoorn railway station. Sixty-eight projectors create a two-dimensional image, a virtual landscape through which the visitors can walk.

Committee

Exhibiting designs regarding our landscape, public space, and gardens to a wide audience is a complex and unrewarding task. Van Engelenburg’s approach is an innovative and successful attempt to address things differently. In Invisible Work, a project about the landscape architects Van Gessel and Mc Gabe, sixty beamers project drawings of the new proposal and the new reality on the ground maps of the existing situations. Relevant information is supplied by means of four beamers on the wall. You can look at it, walk over it, and find yourself within the landscapes. The physical experience of the landscapes also plays an important part here.
