The project

Joris van Gelder graduated from the faculty of Industrial Design of the Eindhoven University of Technology in April 2008. During his Master’s course, he worked on designs that besides being functional are also and in particular highly surprising. His graduation project is a button-less, stainless steel remote control for Bang & Olufsen. Currently, Joris van Gelder is designing interactive concepts at Art Lebedev in Moskow.

Committee

With his project Magical Interaction, Joris van Gelder has succeeded in developing a completely new remote control within the tight framework defined by his client. The latest technologies applied in a very user-friendly and mysterious way. An enigmatic product that not only challenges you into using it but also gives you the feeling that it is ‘alive’ and that you have to cherish it.
