Esmay Wagemans
1
Esmay Wagemans explores how the human body is shaped and represented under technological pressures. Working at the intersection of fashion, technology, and bodily autonomy, her practice is grounded in feminist and posthumanist thought, examining the body’s fluidity and its cyborg possibilities within contemporary culture.
Rooted in material experimentation and cultural research, she uses lifecasting, mould-making, silicone, resin, and experimental composites to create sculptures, wearable objects, and synthetic extensions of the body. Moving between physical and image-based work, Wagemans collaborates across music, performance, and cultural institutions to ground futuristic body politics firmly within the fluctuating cultural terrain of the present.
