New Generation 2026
Colette Aliman
1
Through Sound-Office, Colette Aliman investigates the acoustic layers that emerge as byproducts of the Industrial Revolution—an imperceptible landscape mechanically cemented into our shared environment inhabited by humans and other species alike. Aliman positions sound knowledge as an urgent civic and ecological responsibility, with a critical methodology to engrain it in collective imagination and ecological governance.
Sound remains an elusive yet inescapable aspect of our reality. Since 2019, the studio has confronted these immaterial conditions with forensic discipline and social engagement. Aliman translates issues ranging from sound pollution and interspecies coexistence to technological residue into immersive installations and sound art, facilitating R&D and listening communities that decode the complex questions society confronts daily.
