2019 was a memorable year. We launched a new corporate identity and website, announced 8 winners from the 24 very talented nominees, and launched new content such as the jury columns and winner portraits.

The winners of 2019 gave shape and content to the philosophy ‘less, but better’. They leave the fun and fuss behind; they are characterised by a pure working method. They research systems and develop new design aesthetics as well as their own tools. Curious about the complete jury statement? In this video DDA project leader Frederiek Dijkstra tells you all about it.

The eight committee chairmen and jury members of Dutch Design Awards (DDA) are all experts in their field. In addition to their knowledge of the profession, they all have a great deal of passion for Dutch design. This year all eight of them wrote a jury column especially for DDA in which they gave a glimpse into the broad design field and the DDA categories they represent and judge. Here you can find an overview.

Frederiek Dijkstra, Project Leader DDA, looks back on a year of growth. “We started the year with the new corporate identity, which we have further developed during the year into the presentation and the layered exhibition during DDW. A year with a strong representation from across the design field; to be seen in our committees and jury members, but also in the winners and nominees. I look forward to what DDA20 will bring!”

Thanks for 2019 and make sure to keep an eye out on the channels of DDA, because from February we will start with the open call for DDA20!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
