Royal dresses

The project

The Royal Dresses, consisting of a cape and two gowns, are the special creations that Queen Máxima wore during the change of royal power.

Committee

These dresses create an extraordinarily elegant silhouette. For the ensemble that Máxima wore during the coronation, Taminiau designed an innovative variation on the cape in which an ingenious technique was applied. The designs are refreshing and they put the Netherlands on the international map as a fashion country.

— The designer’s intention was to ensure that Maxima, the wearer,’ was as radiant as possible and to present her beauty the best advantage - Chris Reinewald, Dutch Design Jaarboek, 2013
